Do you know how to do specific formats in Google to search for specific keywords or longtail keywords?  I have outlined four specific ways that you can narrow your targeted search for great keywords.

I have written about this topic before in this article about Google Keyword Tools & Trends.  The following examples, though, will help you do specific searches before you start your article writing, searching for domain names, etc.

When using the Google search box, type your searches in as follows:

keyword – (broad match)

“keyword” – (phrase match)

[keyword] - exact match

-keyword – (negative keywords)

Here are a couple keyword tools you can use to do your research:

Wordtracker’s Free Keyword Tool

Google Keyword Tool

Enter your keyword and look at the list and search numbers beside each search word(s).  The numbers will give you an indication of how many people are searching for these terms across the internet.

All the best,

P.S.  If you don’t understand a thing about SEO (Search Engine Optimization, keywords or anything related to that), download the fr*ee SEO Fast Start Guide by Dan Theis.  You have to register your name and email address but the information contained in the guide is well worth the two seconds it takes you to type the information.
